Station 3 - Platelets
Platelets, or thrombocytes (throm-bo-sites), are not cells but small fragments of a much larger cell body in the bone marrow. Platelets enter the circulatory system and function to help blood clot when an injury takes place. Normall there are between 250,000 and 400,000 platelets in the blood; however they live, on average, 7 days.Microscope 3: (If no miscroscope is available use the picture below)
