Simple carbohydrates test
Problem : Are simple carbohydrates present?Hypothesis : If the simple carbohydrates are mixed with benedict’s qualitative solution and placed in a hot water bath, then it will changed to a yellow, orange or red color.

Procedures:
1. Obtain 5 test tubes and label each of them: Oil, Albumin, Starch, Glucose and Water.
2. Add 10 mL of each solution in their labeled test tube.
3. Add 10 drops of Benedict’s solution to each test tube.
4. Place each test tube into a hot water bath. When heated, substances containing simple sugars will turn yellow,orange or red.
5. Observe and record your results.
Results:
Left: No simple carbohydrates
Right: A lot of simple carbohydrates
